It’s night time, you’re in a Porsche 935, you’re racing round Le Mans, you have a perfect, driver’s eye view – this must be a sim right? Wrong, this is a trip around the iconic La Sarthe circuit at the Le Mans Classic.
It’s so intoxicating, I’d suggest it doesn’t matter who is behind the wheel of this 935, because the visual is just too stunning. The picture is crystal clear as we follow a prototype down the Mulsanne straight even in the pitchest of black nights.
And when we say black, we mean it. There are very few lights around the full Circuit de 24 Heures, other than in some of the major marshalling corners, and it turns out that the lights on a Porsche 935 are absolutely nothing like as powerful as those on a 919. This is the kind of video that makes your heartrate rise even though your sat at home. I’d actually be bold enough to say this is the best Le Mans video we’ve seen this year. It has it all, the view, the sound of the 935’s flat-six, overtakes, speed.
