[Video] The Lola T70 MkIII is V8 heaven | GRR
A sportscar from Lola fitted with a 5.0-litre Chevrolet V8. Those words just send a shiver of excitement up your spine don’t they? It’s bound to be a bit of a deathtrap that growls like the world is about to end and spits flames at the drop of a hat (or a gear).
Don’t worry, this isn’t some form of bait and switch intro that sets you up for a mighty sonorous video but is actually about some EV conversion. Oh no, this is seven minutes of just the Lola T70 MkIII on track. And boy does it sound mighty.
We’d recommend you skip the first 45 seconds or so, just to get to the really good stuff, to see the cars on track rather than pootling round the paddocks. Then, stick your headphones on and just enjoy it all.
These are all MkIIIs, so don’t add the extra B that turned it into a Group 5 legend. Instead this is the Group 4 racer, complete with the rounded headlights. But either way, pounding round Spa and Imola in this video from our man 19Bozzy92, they sound amazing.
