Carrie Schreiner to represent Sauber in F1 Academy 2024 | GRR
The latest addition to the growing F1 Academy grid for 2024 is 25-year-old German Carrie Schreiner. She has been selected to represent the Sauber F1 team and will race in the colours of the newly named Stake F1 outfit.
She joins Campos Racing for 2024, having raced in the inaugural F1 Academy season for ART, where she claimed one victory on her way to 11th in the drivers’ championship.
After starting in karting in 2011, her career to date, which has been carried out mainly in closed-wheel racing, has yielded two titles. Both were achieved during a bumper year in 2018 when she won in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Pro-am class and also the Gran Turismo Touring Car Cup. Those successes saw her invited to test a Formula E car with HWA.
In four appearances at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, she’s achieved three podium finishes in class, including a class victory in 2021 driving an Audi R8 LMS GT4 Evo.
Her appearance in F1 Academy signalled a return to single-seaters for the first time since 2016, and 2024 represents a step in the right direction for Schreiner who will also be racing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship.
