[Video] Hear this R32 GT-R flutter its way through the field | GRR
It’s always fun to see a car carve up a pack in a race, to watch its progress as laps wear on. That’s no exception for the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 in this round of the New South Wales Sports Sedans Championship at Wakefield Park.
The cars all conform to the Australian Group 3D sports sedan regulations, meaning they’re production cars that sold more than 5,000 worldwide. There are a variety of divisions and subclasses for cars of all sizes and power levels, which is why we see everything from a Holden Commodore to a Nissan 300ZX.
History seems to repeat itself, as just in the Skyline GT-R R32’s touring car heyday, it’s making absolute mincemeat of its competitors, chewing up the order on a wave of boost, wastegate flutter and six-cylinder howl. The ‘Godzilla’ Group A cars that dominated Mount Panorama can find a worthy imitator in this privateer-entered R32 built up from a road car that seems to have turned its competitors into obstacles.
A moment of celebration too, for finding a series that will no doubt be the centre of a number of YouTube binges to come, for us at least. Long live the NSW Sports Sedans Championship!
