[Video] Onboard the most relaxed lap of Le Mans ever | GRR
You know the feeling – post-lunch, the sun is out, and you’re just a little… lethargic.
Driver J Saud certainly knows, as he makes his way gently around Le Mans in a rumbling classic Chevrolet Corvette C1 back in 2018. His relaxed pace is the perfect antidote to the screaming flat-out nature of our usual Elevenses, and allows us to appreciate his lines and technique.
His growling V8 certainly isn’t helped by the apparent lack of second gear either, with the driver seen repeatedly struggling with the gearstick. However, he appears unfazed and continues his lap, winding around the 8.5-mile circuit with style.
Filmed at Le Mans Classic in 2018, the seven-minute-long video was uploaded to Peter Auto’s YouTube channel in April, in anticipation for the July 2020 event, which has now been postponed by a year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
