Langen LightSpeed has a four-stroke V-twin and 1,000PS per tonne | GRR
British motorcycle manufacturer Langen has unveiled its second bike ahead of the annual Motorcycle Live show at Birmingham’s NEC, with a jaw-dropping power to weight ratio of 1:1.
The LightSpeed, successor to the popular Two Stroke, moves away from the GP-derived engine in a big way, switching out the 250cc two-stroke for a 1,190cc V-twin four-stroke. The Rotax power unit is the same as you’d find in the American Buell Hammerhead sports bike, but has been developed by Langen to produce 185PS (136kW) at 10,600rpm.
The bike weighs in at just 185kg, thanks in no small part to its custom carbon-fibre bodywork, tubular steel frame and Langen forged and CNC machined aluminium wheels. All this combines to give the LightSpeed an astonishing power to weight ratio of 1,000PS (735kW) per tonne.

Both front and rear suspension comes from Ohlins, while brake calipers are courtesy of HEL Performance. Much like the Two Stroke, the LightSpeed will be fully customisable with bespoke options including paintwork, handlebars, wheels and “other unique finishing touches”.
In line with the 185PS and 185kg figures, only 185 units are to be produced for UK roads of the LightSpeed, with Langen reporting that some Two Stroke customers have already placed orders for theirs without even seeing the bike.
The price tag for a LightSpeed starts at £37,000 plus VAT and production is expected to start in 2025. There are also plans for an additional 370 units to be produced for the rest of the world, starting in 2026.
