Horseracing has been part of life at Goodwood for over two centuries. Today, the Racecourse hosts 19 thrilling days of racing each year, including Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar - one of the highlights of the Flat racing season.
Renewals for the 2026 season are now open. If you renew by Monday 8 December, you will be able to purchase Richmond guest badges for Qatar Goodwood Festival when tickets go on sale on this date.

King Edward VII, who attended every year, famously dubbed the festival meeting ‘a garden party with racing tacked on’. Today, the Racecourse overlooking the South Downs is known for top-tier racing and is considered by many to be the most beautiful in the world.

The first ever horsebox was used from Goodwood to Doncaster for the 1836 St. Leger. Elis arrived fresh and easily won his owner a £12k bet.
