Buckle up, because you’re going to need to hold on for this crazy ride, a furious onboard battle from the Heritage Touring Cup of Peter Auto’s Estoril Classics. With Christophe Van Riet behind the wheel of a 1973 Ford Capri 3100 RS, the video goes from nought to 100 real quick.
Watch from over Van Riet’s shoulder as he jostles with Dario Franchitti in a 1974 version of the same car, with the duo starting the race together on pole, before launching into a crazy dance of cat and mouse. While Franchitti manages to hold the lead for much of the lap, Van Riet pips him at the Esses, pulling into the lead and enjoying a clear run back to the grid.
Accompanying the brilliant driving is a furious V6 soundtrack, starting with a deep hum across the startline and developing into a furious scream as the race gets underway. Ultimately, there can only be one winner…
