You can buy a Jaguar I-Pace owned by King Charles
A 2018 Jaguar I-Pace, once owned by King Charles, will head to auction next month carrying an estimate of £55-75,000. Jaguar’s EV was a perfect fit for a King who’s long been praised for his environmentalism; fittingly, the I-Pace was the first EV supplied to the palace.
OY18BVC came directly from the factory but, unfortunately, in the wrong colour – Eiger Grey. A dark and moody alternative to the King’s preferred Loire Blue, it was immediately sent back to be painted in; it remains the only I-Pace ever to have been finished in this colour, although still registered as grey on the logbook.
Pedigree is assured because the I-Pace has been papped on separate occasions carrying Charles, Queen Elizabeth and Megan Markle. The King even described it as “silent but deadly” to one photographer.
The car was returned to Jaguar in December 2021, having covered 3,000 miles, when it was registered OU18VLW and bought by the current vendor.
Since then, it’s covered a little over 35,000 miles with a full Jaguar main-dealer service history and a warranty until October this year.
Predictably, the car’s fully loaded with gizmos has a Light Oyster Windsor leather interior and a fitted cover. Interestingly, you’ll pay around £20,000 for a similar car without the Royal pedigree.
