The Glover Trophy always features a stunning selection of 1.5-litre Formula 1 cars and this year at the Goodwood Revival is no different. The last of the slim-hipped elegant cigar-tube cars are quick but can still be pushed to their limits around the motor circuit.

Lotuses, BRMs, Sciroccos, Coopers and Brabham’s battled it out like it was 1964, with Joe Colasaco in his Ferrari 1512 battling the two Lotuses of Andy Middlehurst and Nick Fennell from the off. It really is one of the most evocative sights you can see at the Revival: arguably the most elegant cars that race, bending their sidewalls in the sun.
The fun wasn’t to last for the fabulous fire-spitting V12 Ferrari, as Colosaco ducked off at the Chicane with a twitch leading into the final lap. Not before setting the fastest lap of the race, mind you. With the Ferrari out of action, the Climax-powered Lotus 25 of Middlehurst was free to claim the win with a convincing 19-second gap to second-placed Timothy De-Silva in the BRM-powered 24.
