New 78th Members' Meeting dates

The recent announcement of the new Formula 1 calendar has brought with it various knock on consequences to Goodwood, our participants, suppliers and partners. As a result, the previously announced dates for the 78th Members’ Meeting will change to 28 and 29 March 2020.

Goodwood apologises for any inconvenience the change of date may cause, but this revision has been forced by the change to next year's Formula 1 calendar.

What is the reason for changing the date of the 78^th Members’ Meeting published last month?

Our aim is to set the date that allows us the best chance to bring content to our motorsport events and to avoid the sort of clashes, such as school and Easter holidays, that preclude people from attending the events that they enjoy.

What specifically caused the change from 4-5 April to 28-29 March?

We always try not to clash with either the Gulf Air Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix or the Qatar MotoGP round, as these are not only events whose owners and promoters have a long-established relationship with Goodwood, but they also take place at times that are likely to mean the dedicated motorsport enthusiast will be forced to choose between coming to Goodwood or watching them on TV. It also has a knock-on effect to Goodwood, our participants, partners and suppliers.

In previous communications, you said that the date of 4-5 April was confirmed?

We had it on good authority that that the original date of 4-5 April was free of other major events, however the release of the new Formula One calendar produced an unforeseen clash, that had a knock-on effect to Goodwood, its participant, its partners and suppliers.

I have booked accommodation, what should I do?

We recommend contacting your accommodation provider to enquire about changing your booking to the week before. If you still need to book local accommodation, please visit travel.goodwood.com for availability near Goodwood.
