The Citroen 2CV is fondly remembered by many as a small car filled to the brim with character, but it’s perhaps less well known for its motorsport exploits. We reckon it’s about time that changed. Which is why today we are bringing you this quite spectacular video.
Video: Citroen 2CV‑cross is the racing we all want to try
That’s right you read the title correctly. This is 2CV-cross. Citroen 2CVs stripped out to a bare shell with chicken wire windows getting absolutely hurled around a pretty brutal looking off-road course. These things only weighed about 600kg in normal specification. So stripping them right down must make them absolutely feather-light, which we’re not surprised to see has a major impact on their excitement factor.
We’re riding onboard here, but the view ahead shows us just how skittish a 2CV can be when it’s hopping over rough terrain. This looks like incredible fun, and definitely something we’d like to have a go at.
