It's not all Ferrari 250s, Aston Martin DB4s and E-types at Goodwood you know. The world of motorsport could not survive without both ends of the spectrum – the high-profile historic racing or the real grassroots stuff – and we don't shy away from getting involved in the proper basics.

The Autosolo is probably the most basic form of motorsport available and the Goodwood Road Racing Club put on their Autosolo event around this time every year. Se we sent our photographer Tom Shaxson along to find out just what it's like and bring you a taste of the action.
