F1 Academy champion Marta García signs with Iron Dames

García took seven wins on the way to claiming her first-ever championship title in F1 Academy at the age of 23. She becomes the 20^th driver to race for Iron Dames since the project was founded in 2018.

Iron Dames is an all-female motorsport team that races in numerous series and categories around the world, most famously in the World Endurance Championship, where the team picked up its first victory in the final round of the season in Bahrain.

Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey, and Michelle Gatting were the three drivers in the car that day, and headline the current roster of twelve drivers racing in Iron Dames’ famed colour scheme. They’re joined by current F1 Academy star Doriane Pin, who is also competing in the WEC this year.

Marta García joins the fold alongside her current commitments to race in the Formula Regional European Championship in 2024 with the Prema team. She was awarded that fully-funded drive in the series as a prize for her F1 Academy triumph.

“I am delighted to become an Iron Dame. It’s a great opportunity for me, for my present and future.” García said. “I’m aware of how much the Iron Dames programme has done for women in motorsport and I’m incredibly proud to join the squad.

“I’m looking forward to working together this year and I hope to really get the best out of every chance we will have this season.”
