Aston Martin decides you can buy a Lagonda Taraf in the UK

Aston Martin has bowed to the pressure and agreed to make its stunning Lagonda Taraf super-saloon available in the UK.

The ultra-low volume limo caused a sensation last year when it was unveiled to the world, and equal levels of consternation when it became clear that only clients in the Middle East could lay their hands on one.

But by November last year recently installed Aston CEO Andy Palmer told us that he was hoping to bring the Taraf to the rest of the world.

Now the former Nissan man has got his wish and thanks to its flexible VH architecture the Lagonda has been retooled and will finally go on sale in the UK in right hand drive form.

The Lagonda was one of a handful of bespoke projects Aston has undertaken over the last year, including the incredible Vulcan supercar unveiled last week, and the hardcore Vantage GT3.

Aston had initially planned to sell just 100 of the saloons to selected customers in the Middle East but now double that number will leave Gaydon to those enrolled in an exclusive VIP sales programme.

What those lucky few will get is a 6.0-litre V12 capable of hitting 60mph in under four seconds and cruising on to around 200mph.

Hand-built in the same workshop as the bespoke One-77 supercar, the Lagonda will offer buyers cutting-edge tech as well as a high level of bespoke personalisation when it rolls of the production line later this year.
