Manufacturers have been developing various ways to tease upcoming models in recent years. With the advent of the internet and the risk of leaks, simple word of mouth won’t cut it any more. Teaser images, videos, even pre-production drives have become the norm.
Video: F1 ace Max Verstappen slides the new Aston Vantage
In the case of the video teaser for the new Vantage, we’d confidently suggest that Aston have changed the game. Due on the 21st of November, the new Vantage is the latest in Aston’s much-anticipated range of new-generation cars that began with the superb DB11. It’s suspected to utilise the AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 recently seen in the DB11 Volante in what we can assume will be a slightly sportier state of tune. Styling should pull on various corners of Aston’s portfolio including a silhouette seemingly borrowed from Bond’s DB10.
The video features Aston’s ex-Lotus chassis wizard Matt Becker swapping stints with Red Bull F1 ace Max Verstappen, who notes how “playful” it is. It’s nice to see fun is high on the priority list of the man who decides how our Astons drive. It sounds pretty good, too, from what we can tell. Woe betide the man who worries Aston can’t make turbos sound good. We’re rather excited…
