The Bertone-designed 105 series Alfa Romeo coupe is hailed as one of the prettiest cars ever to make production. In its day it was a sophisticated little machine as well, boasting an all-alloy twin-cam engine, five-speed gearbox and disc brakes at all four corners. It was unsurprisingly a huge sales hit with hundreds of thousands being built between 1963 and 1976. The little machine was quite the hit on the racetrack as well, the GTA and GTAm versions winning the European Touring Car Championship five times.

Double the horsepower, carbon-fibre bodies and luxurious interiors are all available. And if you want to do it all yourself, you can even buy a 'GTA in a box' and tinker at home to your heart's content. We were lucky enough to spend a day with the Alfaholics team near Bristol to find out exactly how they craft these classic pocket rockets.
