2026 Honda NSX: price, specs and release date

Earlier this month, Honda revealed its 0 Series of future EVs, and it now seems likely that one of these cars will be a new Honda NSX due to be revealed in 2026. The 0 Series reimagines what we can expect of EVs with striking styling and intelligent packaging, and the halo NSX will be an ideal place to showcase the new tech.

Even the styling is revolutionary. Previewed by the Saloon concept we saw earlier this month, the new NSX is expected to get a wedge-like shape with a huge windscreen that will make it feel like your chin’s skimming the Asphalt. The small frontal area and progressively sloping rear end should also do wonders for drag, improving efficiency.

The Honda NSX has always tested the limits of technology. The original featured a stepped cam high-revving VTEC engine, and the second generation was a plug-in hybrid with a 3.5-litre V6 boosted by three electric motors; for this third generation, we’re expecting the NSX to feature motor-on-each-wheel technology.

That would open up a new world of traction and handling possibilities that we’ve barely scratched the surface of. It would mean the new NSX could be set up to handle in several different ways, from lairy two-wheel drive with a four-wheel drive safety net to modern-day Mitsubishi Evo that can yaw like nothing else. It would be relatively easy to do with Honda’s e-Axles, which combine the motor, inverter, and gearbox into a single unit that’s easily packaged.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N has already given us an idea of future EV performance cars. Its repertoire includes customisable engine noises, a virtual manual gearbox that mimics the shifts of a conventional petrol model, drift mode, one-pedal braking, and over-boost – a new NSX is likely to have a similar list of features.

Sadly, the new Honda NSX is two years away; it’s expected to go on sale when the company launches its new 0 Series EVs in 2026. And the price? Taking account of inflation and the expensive technology the new NSX will feature, it’ll cost around £150,000.
