This custom limo mimics Bugatti Veyron a little too well for our liking

In the world of replicas and kits, some are good, some aren’t so good, in terms of authentically recreating the look of a rare or expensive model. Well, what we’re now about to show you probably takes some sort of cake in this arena. Meet the Vetter stretch limousine, which as you can see, imitates the look of a well known record-setting supercar that rhymes with Ducatti Reyvon.

With just 244 miles covered since its construction, this Vetter has a claim to fame as a guest in Pitbull’s music video for his song ‘Greenlight’. It features everything you’d expect of a limo – fancy configurable lighting, a ‘night club’ audio-visual system and a power divider. Erring more towards a Lamborghini, the front doors go up instead of out, as per the aforementioned record-setting supercar, while there are enormous gullwings in the middle to give access to the lavish cabin.

It’s claimed to use a Ford 4.6-litre V8 engine and a heavy duty Lincoln automatic transmission, which in combination with the look of the driver’s compartment, leads us to believe this thing is based on a Lincoln Town Car, as many normal limousines are. Yet they seem to have managed to graft the front and rear of one of the most important and recognisable hypercars of all time onto it, and might we say, not at all poorly either.

We can’t actually tell whether the engine remains in the front, the face graft is so effective. Are those real lights? Is the windscreen the real deal? Body panels are easy to replicate, but those bits genuinely could be. Looking through the images, we can actually see the ‘hood’ up, with the front of the Ford Modular engine just poking out from under the windscreen. The doors, exhausts and wheels – we think from an Aston Martin Vantage – are the only letdowns to the look. Obviously, the ruinously complicated hydraulics that powered the real Veyron's air brake and wing aren’t here either. Instead, the wing lifts up on hinges like a boot lid to reveal some storage – a nice touch. It even comes with a custom car cover.

So what price for such a creation? The real 250mph deal will set you back seven figures. This sold at Mecum Auction’s Kissimmee sale for just under £65,000. Strewth. So given the choice, what world-renowned supercar would you dress a limo up as? We appreciate it’s probably not something you’ve thought about. We think a McLaren-Mercedes SLR would work well.
