No need for extra tread depth laws – say Michelin

Michelin has hit back at those lobbying for the minimum legal tread depth to be increased from its current 1.6mm to 3mm or 4mm. Road charities such as RoSPA and Brake have long argued that the minimum tread depth should be raised to 3mm, and garages are likely to warn customers when their tyres reach 3mm that they should be changed imminently.
