Porsche reveals updated Panamera interior

08th November 2023

Porsche has released pics of the new Panamera’s dashboard and cabin design ahead of the car’s full reveal on 24 November. Famed for its poise and performance in the luxury car class, the Panamera has also earned a reputation for its well-designed and high-quality cabins. The new model hopes to maintain this tradition by borrowing much of its tech from the Taycan EV.

The new model focuses on simplifying the dashboard design of one of the most tech-heavy cars on sale (at least, if you’re willing to spend big on the options list).

The car’s primary infotainment control and driving mode select has moved onto the steering wheel, and drive is now selected, Mercedes-style, using a column-mounted stalk – all of which makes sense on such a driver-focussed four-door. Despite its extra functions, the delightfully simple and entirely circular (thank you) steering wheel looks uncluttered.

Shifting the controls to the wheel frees up space for a new centre console with a touchscreen climate control panel backed up by physical switches for primary functions. The climate system features electrically controlled finless vents, adjusted via numerous pre-configured settings, which clean up the dashboard. The glove box is also bigger than before.

The dashboard’s uninterrupted trims sweep onto the doors, and the large transmission tunnel and the steeply-raked centre console should give you a cocooned-like feel from the driver’s seat, emphasised by a continuous strip of LED ambient lighting.

You can enjoy the new look from seats that are said to be even more comfortable than before, thanks to improved foam that is more elastic. Executive models offer contoured rear seats that should be almost as comfortable as the chairs up front.

You’ll be able to specify your new Panamera in a range of bi-colour finishes and trim finishes, some of which are, for the first time, produced by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Naturally, leather is an option, but you’ll also be able to choose from leather-free options like Race-Tex and Pepita fabric. Expect to hear more info on the new Porsche Panamera before its ultimate reveal later this month.
