We’ve written time and time again about the David vs. Goliath battles that develop during the St. Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul. With shoe-sized Minis and Alfa Romeo Giulias on the one hand, and big Jaguar Mk2s and continent-sized Ford Galaxies on the other, you’re almost guaranteed a little versus large fight somewhere along the line. Well, as we expected, it was business as usual.

There were thrills and spills from the start, and at one point we had Gregor Fisken in a Ford Galaxie 500 blast past David Hart in an Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA down the Lavant Straight, before Hart threw himself around the outside of the Galaxie coming through Woodcote, locking a wheel as he went but somehow managing to get the car slowed down.
Who triumphed in the end? One of the dinky, lightweight heroes or one of the more muscular brutes?
