Porsche has now won Le Mans multiple times with four, the same number is the regular count in rally cars, Audi is having a go at Dakar with none and even F1 only squeezes to six. But what if we told you there was a brand new racing car available with 16 cylinders?

Meet the new BRM V16, although new is, in the case of British Racing Motors, a relative term. There are now five BRM V16s – of an original four – after the latest, a painstaking continuation model made by the firm, was revealed and had its dynamic debut at the 2021 Goodwood Revival.
We spoke to the Owen family, which is behind BRM, and the members of historic racing company Hall and Hall that helped with the creation of the newest V16, to find out just how the idea for a fifth V16 came about and what this new old car is like.
