This March 811 might be the archetypal late-‘70s early-‘80s F1 car. Black, be-winged, with singing Cosworth DFV power sponsored by sin. Booze, cigarettes and a Parisian gentleman’s establishment. This car was a symbol of aspiration and a beckoning beacon to a wider world for Irish owner John Campion when he was a lad. This car is something of an icon for motorsport enthusiasts of the Irish persuasion as a whole, being formerly of period Irish F1 talent, Derek Daly. Seeing it whet the appetite of young Irish racing talent Jordan Dempsey reassures us and John that these dream cars of a generation will love on as such for further generations to come.
