A tricked-out Escort Cosworth being hooned around the Nürburgring is giving our kind of energy today. The post-event exhaustion has left us craving a bit of a blowout, a bit of silliness and we think a flat-out lap around the Ring in an old Cossie would exorcise that demon.

Unfortunately we’re not at the ‘Ring and we don’t have a Cosworth, though happily this onboard of one getting sent around the Nordschleife is a welcome infill for now. The wheel is very clearly not stock and judging by the added dials and the way that turbo is whistling and chirping with every gear change, our suspicion is this Cosworth has been fettled somewhat. It gets a fair move on too, with the driver delicately managing at the wheel to keep it balanced, working with the four-wheel-drive. There’s nothing quite like a Nürburgring onboard to take you out of the office for ten minutes at a time.
Side note, this video is from ten years ago. We wonder if this Cosworth is still alive and kicking?
