Later decades may have created better racing games, with higher quality graphics and much better physics. But the 1990s gave us several of the best franchises in gaming history.

Yes, this is the era that spawned Gran Turismo, Need for Speed and even short-lived legends like Sega Rally and vRally. It showcased that racing games could feel reel and look more like the proper thing and set the gaming world up for decades of ever increasing success. It could actually be our favourite decade of all.
