Updated: Formula E 2021 calendar overhauled
Updated 17:00 Thursday 28th January. The 2021 Formula E calendar has been updated, with a number of small changes being made for the coming eight dates. The two late-February dates in Saudi Arabia remain on the 26th and 27th, as does the 10th April date in Rome, Italy.
The next event, penned for the 24th April in Paris, has now been postponed until Season 8. In its place there will be a new race in a new place, Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain. The circuit will use a new configuration especially for Formula E.
Monaco remains on 8th May, however the race in Seoul, South Korea’s capital, originally set for 23rd May, has been postponed, with more details to follow. In its place will be a round in Marrakesh at Moulay El Hassan on 22nd May. Finally, while originally TBC, dates of 5th and 6th June have been confirmed in Santiago, for a Chilean double-header.
“We are committed to delivering a global calendar that befits our first season as a World Championship,” said Jamie Reigle, Chief Executive Officer of Formula E.
"We are working closely with all our partners across teams, manufacturers, sponsors, broadcasters and host cities to adapt to external circumstances and ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. We will do so while maintaining what fans love most about Formula E: unpredictable racing, iconic locations and the blend of the real and virtual worlds, all underpinned by our race for better futures.”
