The 2022 BTCC season kicks off at Donington Park in April, with the championship still eschewing its previously traditional Brands Hatch start. Donington also started the much-delayed 2020 season, after motorsport got back underway following the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020. Following a switch to Thruxton in 2021 (a change also forced by a UK lockdown) the championship will once again open in the Midlands in 2022.

After the season opener the teams will move to Brands Hatch for the first time, racing on the shorter Indy Circuit layout, before heading to Thruxton again in May. Oulton Park, Croft, Knockhill and Snetterton will follow before the championship returns to Thruxton for a second trio of races in late August.

Silverstone will host its traditional late-season event in September, using the National Circuit, with the proposed race on the newer Southern Circuit that was to take place in 2020 before the calendar changes seemingly now off the table.

The 2022 BTCC season will finish at Brands Hatch on the full Grand Prix circuit as has become traditional, in early October after 10 meetings and 30 races.
