A couple of years ago Porsche revealed a design collaboration with Lucasfilm on a new space ship for the Star Wars universe. The Tri-Wing S-91X Pegasus Starfighter is the result, splicing together the design DNA of Porsche throughout its history, with that of the expanse-faring ships from a Galaxy Far Far Away.

Looking around the Tri-Wing, you see elements of 917 and 962 in the canopy. From Porsche’s modern design language, we see the eight-light signature from the front of the Taycan up front, while the horizontal and vertical light blades from the 992 911 are visible at the back. There’s a sense of industrial sculpture to the Tri-Wing, that’s innate in all Porsche designs. Simple, functional, yet somehow with an innate beauty.
That was three years ago, though. Now, the Tri-Wing has had its debut in the Star Wars universe. It’s a young Princess Leia Organa that spots one taking off while out exploring, during the new Obi Wan Kenobi Star Wars series. Hopefully, in the series to come, we’ll see a little more of it.
