There has been some incredible car technology created in the last two decades. Engineers have brought us amazing safety features and traction control so subtle that you really will never feel it working. But some of those designs are so wildly infuriating you want to turn the car off and just walk away.

We’ve picked some of the very worst offenders, the car features we look at and just shrug. It includes such monstrosities as £150,000 cars with a reversing camera that might as well be a marrow, and lane-keep assist that just tries to send you into cyclists. Each and every one can ruin a car, and some of them seem so pointless you just wonder... why?
