Scenes of mid-'60s sportscars slowly wading across the flooded Sebring paving amid a savage deluge are jaw-dropping. The commentators continue with flashes of bewilderment and amazement in the voices. “…As mechanics wade into their jobs… It’s the worst deluge ever recorded at Sebring.” Shots of enormous curtains of spray barreling up with a barely-visible Porsche 904 amid them are scarcely believable. Are these the craziest race conditions ever?
