You may think you’ll not enjoy a video of a Ford Fiesta driving up a hill, but something tells us that this one might change your mind. This isn’t your average Fiesta plodding to the shops, absolutely not. This family hatchback has 813PS (598kW) and 850Nm (627lb ft) of torque propelling it up the Portuguese Falperra Hillclimb.
Video: This 800PS Evo X engine‑swapped Fiesta is savage
This is basically the Fiesta that every Tesco car park Ford meet is trying to achieve. Today, we’ve spent a few hours in the Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo which has 598PS (440kW) and 850Nm (627lb ft) of torque and that was mind-blowingly quick. Add an extra 215PS (158kW) to the mix and a much lighter 1,076kg chassis and you have an absolute rocket.
The engine they’ve managed to crowbar into the Fiesta chassis is a turbocharged 2.0-litre inline-four Mitsubishi 4B11. They’ve also popped the Mitsubishi Evo X’s all-wheel-drive system in as well resulting in incredible traction and grip. Within the first 15 seconds of the clip we see double flames firing out of the side exhausts like an explosive boost.
The driver, Mariusz Stec, doesn’t hold back for the entirety of the run, almost clipping every guard-rail and high-fiving the crowd as he ascends the mountain. When the car looks this quick in a video, you know that it will be properly quick in person.
