Video: How the McLaren Elva does without a windscreen

For the innovative new Elva has neither a windscreen, nor the need for one, thanks to its ‘Active Air Management System’, which uses clever aerodynamics to negate a conventional screen.

The mid-engined sportscar is the fifth addition in the McLaren Ultimate Series, after the F1, P1, Senna, and Speedtail. Producing 815PS from its 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8, the model more than lives up to its French etymology: ‘elle va’, which translates to ‘she goes’!

Designed for the ‘pleasure and pure exhilaration of driving’ the Elva has been stripped of all non-essential equipment, which allows it to fulfil incredible acceleration – it can reach 62mph in less than three seconds.
