It’s precisely a week to go until the world largest motorsport garden party, AKA the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, kicks off.

Erin Baker: Top 10 to look forward to in this year's Michelin Supercar Paddock

My personal jewel in the crown this year is the Michelin Supercar Paddock. Tucked behind the trees to one side of the track, it’s home to the various monsters that rumble and roar up the hill in front of the eager crowds. It’s amazing to watch these cars on the move, of course, but there’s so much mouth-watering joy to be had in strolling round them at leisure, taking photos, gazing at the external design and interior materials up close, smelling the hot metal and oil… most of them exude speed just standing still anyway.
Here are my anticipated Top 10 Pick of the Paddock this summer:
Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato
My pick of the crop: unveiled last year in Italy, the most beautiful car in the Michelin Supercar Paddock this year. There, I’ve said it. Just stunning. Disagree? Go ahead. But you’re wrong. V12, 600bhp and so graceful.

Bentley Continental Supersport
The fastest ever production Bentley and world’s fastest four-seater. Seven-hundred horsepower and even more torque from that twin-turbo W12. A serious bit of metal.

Eagle Low Drag GT
It’s been around for a couple of years but I still haven’t got up close and personal with this car – long overdue. Commission yours forthwith.

Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta
The best celebration of the marque’s 70 years in my view. An extreme cardio experience. One hundred and fifty have been made: 950bhp from the engine and electric motor. Should be enough.

Ford GT
A Fiesta or a £420,000 supercar? Tough decision. Technically brilliant and damn fine to look at. Thank you, Le Mans, for this car.

Maserati GranCabrio
Been waiting for the revised version for ages it seems. The best way to celebrate 70 years of Maserati grand tourers, with an open-top arrangement.

Nissan BladeGlider
Now THIS is what the Leaf should have been. Pass me a plug. I’m driving this on the Sunday of the festival; the future of Electric Avenue looks bright.

McLaren 570S Spider
Like Page 3, there’s a topless theme developing here. Must be the sunshine… The 570S is a serious sportscar, the 570GT softer round the gills; where will the Spider fit in? I’m driving it next month so will let you know.

Singer 911 Targa
And again. I love this car’s design. You can’t move for “reimagined” modern takes on classics these days but, as Top Gear magazine said, “this is the best of the bunch”. Possibly. Although that was before the XKSS… and the DB4 GT… and the Lister Knobbly….

Fittipaldi EF7 Vision Gran Turismo by Pininfarina
Saw this at the Geneva motor show but can’t wait to see it on the move. Emerson Fittipaldi and Pininfarina design a car – what’s not to like about this supercar? Multi-stage traction control so friendly handling. We hope.
