Video: Owning a Lotus 11
Does it get more thoroughbred than this? A purpose-built, aluminium-shod, aerospace-designed track weapon from Colin Chapman' Lotus heyday. This is a 1956 Lotus 11. The embodiment of the Lotus engineering ethos that has by and large gone unchanged to this day: Simplify, then add lightness. Its 1,500cc engine isn’t exactly a powerhouse, but the precision and slim hips of the 11 let the trashy four-pot do its best work. Watch, in the video above, as the owner proudly takes us around this stunning British Racing Green machine.
