French fancies dominate Hot Hatch Sunday

Which is the quintesential hot hatch nation? Both the Germans (Golf GTi) and the Italians (Strada Abarth) would lay claim to have begun the trend, but it may well be the French who have carried that tradition through to its greatest heights.

Renault started it off with the 5 Turbo, Citroën had the AX Sportif and DS3 and Peugeot had a series of GTi and Rallye-badged model running from the 205 GTi. So we felt on our first Hot Hatch Sunday for a few years it was time to celebrate the tricolore of motoring that is French hot hatches.

In a special display under the Revival's inconic themed pits we lined up as wide an array of French hot hatchery as we could find. Including the 205 GTi, Renault 5 Turbo, and even a full rally-spec Citroën C2.
