You don’t win Le Mans nine times and not retain some of that keen racing edge as you settle into your retirement. It is this fact that is the reason why we can bring you an onboard video of the most successful Le Mans winner of all time, Tom Kristensen, going from 18th to 3rd in a GT40 at Goodwood.
Video: Racing from 18th to 3rd in five laps in a GT40
It was 78MM in October last year and it took five laps for Mr Le Mans to scythe his way through the grid and in this video and you get a front-row seat. We’re not in the business of putting together pushover grids here at Goodwood. For anyone else, it would have been something of a struggle. Even Kristensen with all his might had to fight hard for a few of those overtakes… but he does the business, pushing his Alan Mann racing-liveried GT40 to the limit. Scenes we love to see.
