A sprinkling of rain and a layer of grease on the track wasn’t enough to put off competitors giving it absolutely everything in the 75MM practice sessions at Goodwood today.
It’s safe to say that Chris Ward in his SD1 had his lead slippers on for the Gerry Marshall Trophy practice session, as did Richard Woolmer in his Weslake Cup Sebring Sprite. In spite of the conditions and the playful driving, we’ve seen some serious times.
Andrew Hibberd topped the Brabham Trophy and Derek Bell Cup with respective times of 1:28.792 and 1:42.200. Meanwhile in the slithery Gerry Marshall Trophy saloons, Mark Blundell set the time to beat in his plucky Ford Escort RS2000 with a best of 1:41.700, followed closely by the Bryant’s Camaro Z/28 with a 1:41.843 best. Have a look through the gallery above to see everyone on-limit, scrabbling for a good race start position!
