Video: 2021 Earl Howe Trophy Highlights | 78th Members’ Meeting

17th October 2021
Andrew Willis

When a motor race ends with a winning margin of just 0.327 of a second, you know it has been a corker from start to finish. Even more so when the field is made up of inter-war two-seater Grand Prix and Voiturette racers of the early 1930s.

With all drivers showing ultimate commitment throughout, it was a standout performance from both the second place Alfa Romeo 8C 2600 Monza driven by Gary Pearson and the victorious Bugatti Type 35B expertly piloted by Lukas Halusa following plenty of elegant sideways drifting.

If the racing was good enough for Dario Franchitti to watch track-side open mouthed – bearing in mind he’s a four time IndyCar Series champion, three-time winner of the Indianapolis 500 and a 24 Hours of Daytona winner. Then we reckon this 1-minute 17-second highlight reel is worth your attention.
