Video: Sideways McLaren sends GT40 spinning at 75MM
If you’re the keenest of Goodwood spectators, you’ll have worked out that we’re referring to the McLaren M1B of Laurie Bennett in the Surtees Trophy at 75MM. As we can see in the video above, a close call with a GT40 leaves the M1B unstable and careering sideways as the cars stream towards St Mary's. Bennett’s rather sideways and skittish re-entry procedure then leaves a few others out of ideas as to where to go too, resulting in a multi-car spin. A reminder that driving a Can-Am machine is not for the feint hearted.
