Never mind the stages of Wales or Monte Carlo or the forests of Finland. Perhaps the ultimate challenge in motorsport history has traditionally been the Paris-Dakar rally, which attacked the daunting Sahara Desert year after year.
In the early 1990s, Citroën took on this challenge with an extraordinary, and only slightly road-related, version of its ZX, winning the rally in 1991. Now one of those cars is owned by Max Girardo, alongside several other iconic rally cars. Here he talks us through what makes this car so amazing.
