Video: Roaring opening lap at the Nürburgring in a Porsche 911 RSR

We recently wrote about the new Genesis Ring Taxi and one of the ultimate experiences of being a passenger around the Nürburgring, at the mercy of the expertise of drivers who have done thousands of laps around the historic track. Now, that was thrilling, but surely nothing beats being behind the wheel for yourself.

With today’s video, you can fast-track the time it takes to complete the expert-level one thousand laps and join drivers Ben Bünnagel and Fabio Grosse inside a Porsche 911 RSR for ten minutes of heaven around the Nordschleife. This is the opening lap of a three-hour long endurance race, and so we get to enjoy the thrills of close racing off the line, with the whole pack squished together. And they get close, too. A minute hasn’t even passed before the overtakes begin, and just listen to that engine… The comments underneath this video gush about the sound and it isn’t hard to see why. Never mind three hours, we could happily race here all day.
