Video: This is some of the most audacious racing we’ve ever seen

Here’s something to get you energised and ready for a chilly Friday afternoon. Some incredible onboard footage of a driver who looks to have downed several litres of his favourite energy drink before taking to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Among a field of spectacular-looking Funyo prototype machines, with roughly 270PS (199kW) and revving to around 6,500rpm, this guy is absolutely flying. We’re not exactly sure what kind of race this is, some drivers seem more up for the fight than others, but the view we have is of a driver who really enjoys pushing things to the absolute limit, and that includes some fairly audacious overtaking attempts.

It takes a matter of one corner before we nearly end up in the wall and he attempts to go three-wide into Eau Rouge on a greasy and treacherous-looking surface. And as if that wasn’t enough, you simply need to take a look at the move he attempts over the top of Raidillon. We won’t spoil it, but suffice it to say we imagine muscles were clenched.

Can we also just add that we really want to have a go at racing these cars? They look fantastic.
