Video: Waving at a helicopter at 180km/h mid Dakar stage is cool

Adrien Van Beveren is a relative newcomer to the hallowed Dakar competitor sheets, having first ran in last year’s 38^th running, taking sixth overall. Newcomer or not, Enduropale titles in 2014 and 2015 that he would go on to make a hattrick in 2016 obviously proved him a safe bet for the Job. This year he’s back and as the video above shows, he lends a sense of humour to proceedings. While traversing the 275km second stage on January 3^rd, he saw fit to pop a wave for the onlooking helicopter as he battered the trail at 180km/h.
