Performance upgrade and hypercar proprietor Hennessey is turning 30 years old and is celebrating appropriately, with 30 special 1,000PS (735kW) ‘Exorcist’ Camaro ZL1s.

That’s a healthy 350PS (257kW) bump over the already impressively powerful Camaro ZL1. How do they do it? Well, the key is of course in the highly capable small block engine. A bigger supercharger and air kit, a custom cam, ported cylinder heads, long-tube exhaust manifolds and high-flow catalytic converters go some way towards it. The results? A top speed of 217mph, via a 9.57-second quarter mile and a 0-62mph time of around 2.5 seconds.

Each of the 30th Anniversary cars gets an anniversary logo on its flanks behind each front wheel, as well as a numbered chassis plate. Subtle touches on what is a very unsubtle car. The price for all this? Including the car, £98,192 at current exchange rates, before import costs...

In the 30 years since its founding in 1991, Hennessey Performance has upgraded well over 10,000 vehicles, in addition to building the 270mph Venom GT hypercar. As for the next 30? Well, superchargers don’t really gel with EVs but we are excited to see what the new F5 hypercar can do...
