Gallery: Koenigsegg Regera and Lexus LFA headline stunning GRRC display

01st May 2022

A new addition to the Goodwood Breakfast Club events this year is a GRRC Members’ display, and it is here for the first time at Supercar Sunday.

Open to Members of the Goodwood Road & Racing Club, this is a handpicked selection of the cars we think best fit the theme of each Breakfast Club and may well feature some of the rarer or more unusual options.

This was very apparent from the breadth of cars lined up outside the Jackie Stewart Pavilion. A case in point; a silver Lexus LFA – aka the internet’s favourite supercar – parked next to a maroon Bristol Fighter. Both V10-powered to be sure, but poles apart in terms of not just execution, but thinking, even if technically you could have cross-shopped the two for one year only in 2011.

Next to those two was another oddity, a Spyker C8 Spyder, which was attracting as many admiring glances for its machined aluminium interior as its sleek exterior. Opposite them were two supercars which again, may have been on the same shopping lists back in the day but were very different in how they did things; a Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster in a surprisingly subtle silver and a gorgeous dark blue Jaguar XJ220.

Which one would we take? Well, if we could take the screaming Lambo V12 wrapped in the Jag’s perfect bodywork that would be ideal.

Also attending was a Mercedes-AMG GT Pro, its bodywork studded with carbon-fibre, a brace of Porsche Carrera GTs looking so discrete you might miss them and, by contrast, a totally unmissable Koenigsegg Regera with exquisite royal blue and gold coachwork and its hypercar rival, a Ferrari SF90.

If we had to pick just one however it would be the stunningly ‘70s orange Lamborghini Countach. We can’t wait to see what the GRRC has on offer at next month’s Rule Britannia Breakfast Club.
