Just like that we’ve ploughed through Thursday at the 2025 Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. It’s been hot, that’s for sure, but our photographers have still been out in force capturing everything the opening day of the event has had to offer.

We’ve had dynamic debuts on the Hill, including the Ferrari F80, Lotus Emira Turbo SE, Alpine A390 and Aston Martin Vantage S, plus championship-winning F1 cars and drifters. The Central Feature marking Gordon Murray’s incredible 60-year career was revealed to the world as well, and we enjoyed a lovely moment on the balcony of Goodwood House to celebrate 50 years since Derek Bell’s first of five Le Mans triumphs. Oh, and the Red Arrows did their thing in the skies above the House, too.
If you’re here for Friday, have a look at our Festival of Speed timetable. Be sure to hydrate — it’ll be another hot one!
Photography by Joe Harding, Pete Summers, Rob Cooper, Jordan Butters, Toby Whales and Eimear Hyland.
