By the time the race started, conditions were still very tricky resulting in plenty of delicately balanced oversteer throughout the entire grid. The first battle for the lead was between Rob Huff and Nigel Greensall, both in Jaguar E-Types, until a safety car caused a bit of confusion for teams. The Kinrara Trophy is a two-driver race, and some cars had been in for a driver change before the safety car and others hadn't.
By the time the race restarted, darkness had begun to fall adding to the challenging conditions. In the end, it was the Jaguar E-Type of Jon Minshaw and Phil Keen that took the chequered flag and everyone could breathe a sigh of relief.
