Friday practice and qualifying at the Revival is a curious event to behold, as our race aces reacquaint themselves with our Motor Circuit. Those first tentative few laps after months away quickly give way to confident moves, as the competitors spread their wings and stretch their legs in preparation for a weekend’s racing.
Whether it’s finding that delicate dance necessary to perform in the Glover Trophy for 1.5-litre F1 cars, or mastering the rear end of the Whitsun Trophy presented by Sky Cinema’s monster big-banger sports prototypes. It could be a matter of balancing the fizzing saloons of the St Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul. There’s always room to grow around Goodwood and indeed, room to send it off into the grass.
So here are a few choice shots from a day’s practice and qualifying at Revival 2022. The weekend has to start somewhere and the pace needs to be found in short order. No trouble for our roster of seasoned veterans, with a close call or two for good measure.
