It wouldn’t be a Goodwood Members’ Meeting presented by Audrian Motorsport without the Gordon Spice Trophy. This race has become one of the most fiercely competitive events in historic motorsport, with a terrific variety of both cars and drivers duking it out for supremacy.

Representing a memorable period of the British Saloon Car Championship, this battle between high-capacity Group 1 tin-tops is a race you won’t want to miss. Starting off with Official Practice on the Saturday at 13:45, this is the perfect post-lunch watch if big-engined brutes are what you’re into.
The Gordon Spice Trophy commences, again at 13:45, on Sunday afternoon, and anyone within a 20-mile radius of the Goodwood Motor Circuit will be hard pushed to miss the sound of a 30-strong grid of Camaros, Capris and more unleashing their power in unison as the flag drops.
Before the race gets underway, there’s an opportunity to get an even closer look at the cars with a Grid Walk scheduled at 14:55, so make sure to get down onto the Motor Circuit to rub shoulders with plenty of big-name drivers as they prepare to engage in automotive combat.

There couldn’t be a more thrilling race to put in your calendar this weekend, with Jenson Button making his Members’ Meeting debut in a Chevrolet Camaro Z28. While he’s busy wrestling the Camaro, David Brabham will also be on the grid in a Rover 3500 SD1, a car that has achieved plenty of success in this race before but hasn’t won since 2019.
If that wasn’t enough, all four Goodwood House Captains are involved. Torbolton’s Dario Franchitti will be at the wheel of the instantly recognisable Volvo 242T, Tom Kristensen of Darnley will be pedalling another SD1, Aubigny’s Andy Priaulx will be returning to the cockpit of the Camaro that he’s gone well in over the last couple of years, and this year’s acting Captain of Methuen, Marino Franchitti, will be chasing success in a Ford Capri.

There’s plenty of American muscle on display this year, prepare to be struck in all of your senses by Ford Mustang Boss 302s, Chevrolet Camaro Z28s and even an AMC AMX. The Ford Capris will of course be tearing around the Motor Circuit as they always do, attempting to see off the challenge of Rover, BMWs and the Volvo, all of which will be putting up one hell of a fight - of that we can be sure. These Group 1 touring cars from the 1970s and early ‘80s are prepped and ready to put on a show.
